The St. Nicholas Market has been a December event at Christ Church for several years, but this year we are opening up to the public! Come shop local, handmade, unique vendors and support a market with a mission! The market will be a two-day affair, Friday, November 4, from 10 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday, November 5, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Parishioners are invited to sell their handmade items. There is no charge for members of Christ Church.

All proceeds from the market will go to support local ministries of Christ Church.

Know local artisans that would be a good vendor? Know a local non-profit that might be interested in participating? Contact Ami Hooper, ami@christchurchtemple.org, or Sharon Murphy, sharonut1972@hotmail.com.

We’re starting early on our annual Advent Devotional booklet. This year, we’re taking a slightly different direction, by widening Advent meditations to include stories about special remembrances of hope, love, joy and peace all year long. Your stories can come from anytime during the year, but we’d like them to reflect on the spirit of Advent.

The joy that is Christmas—the birth of the Christ, happens all the time, every minute of every day. As the days get shorter and the air chills (we hope), we remind ourselves of the power and presence of Christ within us. Then we celebrate the season with newfound glee.

This year, we want to include your favorite recipe that you can share with us. We’ll include recipes from decades ago when the women of the church sponsored teas and luncheons. Please tell us the story relating to this recipe and why you cherish it.
